Some photos of Buenos Aires...

Buenos Aires is a very busy international city that never sleeps. Many porteños (people who live in Buenos Aires) consider themselves to be more European than Latin American. Just one look at some of the architecture can easily explain one of the reasons for this. Sit by the street outside a café in San Telmo, and you might forget that you are not really in Italy or Spain.

Many porteños are descendants of immigrants from Spain and Italy. This is evident in the food, music, language, and other aspects of the culture. Nonetheless, Buenos Aires is home to people of many origins. The city has a very notable Jewish population, for example, and also many immigrants from other Latin American countries.
